"China has always been an important market for us, so as soon as we got the official export licence [for Chilean blueberries] we shipped it to our customers in Shanghai," said Gonzalo Matamala, Giddings Fruit's general manager for Asia and China.
He pointed out that the current domestic production of blueberries in China is declining, Peru's shipments are gradually increasing, and the quality when they arrive is good. The market prices remain high, which is a good start for the Chilean blueberry season.
