Tanzania Airlines (ATCL) recently launched a direct cargo flight to Guangzhou. On January 12, the first flight took off smoothly, using a Boeing 767 model with a maximum load of 54 tons, delivering fresh agricultural products and other goods to the Chinese market more quickly and efficiently.

It is understood that on November 18, 2024, 24 tons of Tanzanian organic avocados arrived in Hong Kong by sea in 22 days, and then entered the mainland market. In December, Tanzania was approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China to open a direct cargo flight from Dar es Salaam to Guangzhou, which greatly shortened the transportation time and improved the supply efficiency.
This will be an important milestone for Tanzania's avocado industry, especially the opening of direct cargo flights, which has brought new growth opportunities for exporters.
Avocado is the first fresh fruit that Tanzania has gained access to the Chinese market. Tanzania is the third largest avocado producer in Africa, second only to South Africa and Kenya. Tanzanian avocados are mainly exported to Europe and the Middle East, and now China is expected to become its next major destination. According to existing data, Tanzanian avocado exports reached 26,826.3 tons in 2023, with an export value of approximately US$73 million.
Our avocado processing lines have also been successfully exported to Tanzania, helping to further develop the local avocado industry. As Tanzanian avocados have more opportunities to enter the Chinese market, our avocado processing equipment provides local producers with more efficient processing and packaging solutions, improving product quality and market competitiveness. We are very happy to be able to participate in this important moment and look forward to more cooperation opportunities with the Tanzanian market.
