On July 19, the General Administration of Customs issued an announcement on the plant quarantine requirements for the import of fresh persimmons from Tajikistan.

Tajikistan became the fourth country/region approved to export fresh persimmons to China after Taiwan, Spain and New Zealand. Tajikistan began to grow persimmons in the early 1960s. The first orchards were located in central and southern Tajikistan, and then spread to other regions. Persimmons have now become a very common fruit in Tajikistan. The main varieties are Denau Sugar, Gosho Gaki, Kheakuma, Senju Mori and chocolate persimmons.

The skin of persimmons is easily damaged, and it is not easy to sort them. The best way is to use a color sorting machine to strictly process the persimmons to high standards, and sort the fruits of each grade according to the defects and internal quality of the fruits. However, considering the cost issue, sorting by weight would be the most cost-effective option. Simple size sorting will cause certain damage to the skin of the persimmons, and the effect is not accurate. Sorting persimmons by weight can ensure that the damage to the persimmons is minimized and the error can be controlled within 2 grams. It is a cost-effective option.
