The South African lemon export season is coming to an end and production is expected to fall regularly, currently below last year's figures and the initial forecast for 2024.

The Southern African Citrus Growers Association (CGA) Lemon Focus Group has revised down South Africa's lemon export figures. At the start of the season, 37.9 million 15 kg cartons of lemons were expected to be exported.
This figure was revised down during meetings held throughout the season. After the adjustment, total lemon exports in 2024 are expected to be 33.9 million cartons, compared to 35.6 million cartons exported from Southern Africa last year.
