According to data from the Peruvian Blueberry Growers Association (ProArandanos), as of the end of November, 73 Peruvian blueberry companies under the association had sold 175,574 tons of fresh blueberries, an increase of 36% over the previous year.

Among them, the US market accounts for 55% of exports, equivalent to 95,735 tons, an increase of 46% over 2020/21. Exports to Europe and China were 51,634 tons and 23,612 tons, respectively, an increase of 11% and 75%.
The Peruvian blueberry industry is developing rapidly in terms of variety innovation. In 2016, Peru only planted about 13 blueberry varieties, and today, it is estimated that 60 varieties are planted nationwide.
ProArandanos said that export growth is the result of increased productivity. So far, the contributions of important producing areas such as La Libertad and Lambayeque have increased by 35% and 151% respectively, accounting for 77% of total blueberry exports.
The increase in the supply of the Peruvian blueberry industry also means that the price has dropped slightly (about 3%), reaching $5.85 per kilogram (offshore price, about 37.40 yuan).
