At present, domestic imports of mangosteen are mainly from Thailand and Indonesia, as well as Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, and Myanmar. This year, Thailand has a bumper fruit harvest. The total output is expected to reach 5.4 million tons, an increase of 22.83% year-on-year. However, mangosteen alone has experienced a reduction in production, from 337,000 tons last year to 315,000 tons. The price of mangosteen in Thailand has also remained high.

Thailand and Indonesia have always been the key countries for First Industry to promote mangosteen classifiers. First Industry not only produces electronic weighing graders that sort mangosteens by weight, but also produces roller mangosteen sorters that classify mangosteens by size.
The production of mangosteen in Indonesia is also not optimistic. Also affected by the weather, the production of mangosteen in Indonesia has been cut by nearly half this year. Indonesia's mangosteen went to market earlier than Thailand, which can make up for the gap between Thailand and the domestic market. From December 2, 2020, the first batch of Indonesian mangosteen arrived in the country in the Japanese season, until this week, the wholesale price of Indonesian mangosteen has been maintained at a high level of 450-500 yuan/box.
