On May 8, the first regular freight route between Wuhan and Mexico City took off from Wuhan Tianhe International Airport. The flight carried more than 30 tons of industrial supplies, epidemic prevention materials, medical supplies, and cross-border e-commerce.

It is reported that this is the 14th international regular cargo route opened by Tianhe Airport. The route is operated by Aeromexico, twice a week, and is expected to achieve a cargo throughput of 3,500 tons per year. This is also the first freight route from Mainland China to Latin America, which will greatly improve the efficiency of logistics between China and Latin America.

Under normal circumstances, it takes at least 19 days for Mexican agricultural products to ship to the country. If you choose air freight, it will take at least 3-5 days to transfer and wait. The cargo flight operated by the airline departed from Wuhan, stopped in Seoul, South Korea to refuel, and then flew directly to Mexico City. The air flight time is about 16 hours, and the time for agricultural products to travel from Mexico to mainland China has been shortened to less than one day. In the past, the fruits sold by Mexico to China were mainly avocados that were resistant to long-distance transportation. It is expected that after the launch of this cargo flight, more permitted fruits such as blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries will also appear in the Chinese market.
