According to Destatis' first estimate for this year, German plum production will be around 45,100 tons in 2023, a decrease of 3.7% (1,800 tons) compared to 47,000 tons in 2022. This decline is the result of a natural turnaround, as a smaller harvest is expected after last year's particularly good year. Compared to the ten-year average (45,500 tons), according to preliminary estimates, this year's plum harvest is only about 400 tons smaller.
