As a root vegetable, onions are difficult to handle, unlike potatoes and sweet potatoes. Onion skins, for example, are particularly fragile and leave many pieces on the grader. To minimize this problem and guarantee a perfect separation of the vegetables, thus increasing production efficiency, we have developed a unique onion grading, sorting and processing machine.
Compared with the previous onion grading machine, we have installed a special fan between the lifting and manual selection table this time, which can easily remove the easy-to-shed skin of the onion.
The Roller Grader is an efficient and high capacity grader that grades onions according to their diameter size. The onions are between the rotating drums, the gap between the drums gradually widens as the conveyor moves forward. Thus, the smallest onions will fall near the beginning of the grader, where the gaps are smallest, while the largest onions will fall at the end of the grader. Several horizontal belt conveyors below the radial graders collect the falling onions and transport them to sorting outlets for each size range that can be packed. Customer can choose the diameter size range he wants at each outlet.
