Egypt's fruit and vegetable exports have increased to 4 million tons and 800000 tons since the start of the new fruit and vegetable export season, Egypt's central administration of the Ministry of Agriculture reported on October 22.
Ahmed al attar, director of the central agricultural quarantine department of the Ministry of agriculture of Egypt, stressed that the Egyptian agricultural products exported to the European Union are in line with international quality standards, so there are no barriers to export to countries.
Egyptian crops have successfully opened up new foreign markets, especially in China, the European Union and East Asian countries. Abdel Moneim El Banna, former Minister of agriculture and land reclamation of Egypt, said that some countries lifted the ban on the export of Egyptian agricultural products, which confirmed the safety of Egypt's export procedures and high quality of crops.
In addition, during 2016-2017, Egypt exported 446 million US dollars of citrus fruits.
Between 2017 and 2018, the figure grew to $502 million.
