China is the country with the fastest growth in imports of avocados. According to statistics, the total imports of avocados in 2018 reached the highest level of 44000 tons over the years, a significant increase of 37% over 2017. At present, China's imports of avocados mainly come from Peru, Chile and Mexico. In recent years, avocados from other countries have been allowed to enter China. For example, New Zealand, the Philippines, California and Kenya have been granted access to avocados, but Peru is still the main supplier of avocados to China. In 2019, for example, Peru exported 12932 tons of avocados to China that year, accounting for 40% of China's total imports of avocados that year.
