Chestnut is a broad-leaved tree belonging to the genus *Castanopsis* in the family Fagaceae. It typically grows from plains to mountainous areas at altitudes of up to 2800 meters. Its fruit is a common and nutritious dried fruit. Besides China, Spain, Turkey, Italy, and Australia are also major producers.
Chestnuts thrive in environments with an average annual temperature of 10.5-21.8℃. Excessively high temperatures can lead to insufficient dormancy and poor growth, while excessively low temperatures can cause frost damage. Chestnuts are light-loving trees and require ample sunlight; insufficient sunlight can cause branch dieback or failure to bear fruit.

Chestnuts prefer moist soil but are susceptible to waterlogging. Excessive rainfall and prolonged waterlogging can severely damage the root system, especially mycorrhizae. Therefore, chestnut orchards are not suitable for low-lying, flood-prone areas.

With the rapid development of agricultural technology, more and more growers and farmers are choosing to purchase chestnut washing, sorting, and packaging machines, which improve both efficiency and income.
