On Aug. 20, Shanghai Pengsheng Industrial Co. Ltd., one of China’s leading blueberry importers, and Camposol, the largest agricultural company in Peru and a major grower of blueberries and avocados, jointly hosted a launch ceremony for this season’s first shipment of Camposol Peruvian blueberries at the Shouheng City Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market, located in Hubei province and serving as a key fruit wholesale hub for central China. In addition to blueberries, Camposol has successfully exported various other fruits to China, including cherries from the company’s orchards in Chile.

Owing to the impact of the El Niño phenomenon last season, the overall blueberry harvest in Peru was delayed. In response, the Camposol team took proactive measures, such as carefully selecting high-quality blueberries with excellent firmness and a crisp texture, specifically catering to the preferences of the Chinese market, to ensure that the fruit maintains an optimal shelf life after reaching retailers. As a result, the supply to the Chinese market will be greater and more stable. In addition, with the first phase of the Chancay Port Terminal project in Peru set to be completed in November, the shipping time of Peruvian blueberries to China will soon be reduced by approximately 10 days.
