Recently, the U.S. Department of Agriculture released a report predicting China's apple production and trade in 2021 / 22 quarter (July 2021 June 2022).
The challenges faced by China's apple production mainly include the aging of the agricultural population and the rise of production costs. Some private enterprises have applied automatic robot technology to apple picking and pest control, but most growers cannot afford to invest heavily in such high and new technologies. At this time, we need some small automatic apple processing equipment, such as apple sorter, with low price and large output, which can not only alleviate the problem of labor shortage, but also save labor costs.

It is estimated that China's apple production will reach about 45 million tons in 2021 / 22 quarter, an increase of about 900000 tons year-on-year. Industry insiders revealed that the abnormal weather in the new season will not lead to serious production reduction, but the shape and appearance of the fruit will be affected. Due to the drought in summer, the size of apples in Shaanxi Province, the largest producing area in China, is generally one size smaller than that in the previous season. The second largest producing area, Shandong Province, was hit by hail in early October, and the appearance of apples was damaged. In short, the proportion of high-quality fruits in the new season is lower than that in the previous season.
In 2021 / 22 quarter, due to the limited production of high-quality apples, the product price is expected to remain high year-on-year. Under the influence of COVID-19, the price of international shipping has risen sharply, and the cost of transportation has increased greatly. In addition, many uncertain factors such as the shortage of shipping containers, the suspension of ports, strict quarantine policies and the closure of border ports will also affect China's apple import and export trade. According to the report, China's apple import volume in 2021 / 22 quarter is about 60000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11%, and the export volume is about 1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9%.
